Thank You for a Great 2022 Edition!

We’d like to thank all participants for coming to Long Run Park and celebrating the power of community with us!

We’ve curated results, photos, event stats, and final notes below.

When we release information for the 2023 edition, this section will be archived in a blog post.

  • Results are uploaded to USA Cycling. You can see the race-day Start & Results in PDF form by clicking HERE.

  • Thank you to Nick Knopf, Jarrod Connally, Nina Greipel, and Sandor Saldivar for capturing snapshots throughout the day.

If someone you know captured photos and they’re not listed here, please let us know! We want to share your work!

  • What an amazing, sunny day we shared!

10 team and event shade tents, 1 food truck, 216 pints of beer, 5 bottles of bourbon, 15 volunteers, 1 free massage therapy booth, and lots of happy faces!

Our turnout was an awesome 153 entries from 115 unique riders representing 9 different states.

A number we’re massively proud of is that we gave away 27 USA Cycling one-day licenses— this means over 20% of our racers did their first bike race ever or returned after several years of not racing. What an amazing show that bike racing can grow with the right support.

Thank you so much for a great day of celebrating bikes.

  • Our goal was to spread the word about Falls City Community Bikeworks and raise a little bit of cash to fund their operations.

With help from Four Roses Bourbon and Falls City Beer we were able to fundraise $418 dollars for the non-profit!

Our raffle winners were Tom Burridge, and Greg Garcia, while Zachary Lewis of Cincinnati won the grand prize.

An amazing showing of what our cycling community can do when we come together for a singular purpose. Thank you to all who donated!

  • If you’d like to provide us feedback on what we could improve, or a testimonial if you loved it please send us an email at cyclingholdings@gmail.com.

We organize races because it’s fun, and we want you to feel comfortable and welcome to talk with us.

A classic road loop around Long Run Park in Louisville, Ky that features rolling terrain, vistas of Long Run Lake, and an uphill dash to the finish line.

As you gather your fitness for the summer, the sweeping circuit enables a safe road-racing experience paired with the attainable duration and intensity of a criterium.

Race day schedule.

This race is always beginner friendly, and we encourage first-timers to come out and race. The elite races are fast and exciting, with our winners having come from solo breakaways, reduced sprints, and even full-peloton gallops.

Due to limited parking availability, carpooling or riding to the park is encouraged.

Onsite registration will close 30 minutes before each race.

Come race with us!

Bring your family, lawn chairs, and an appetite as this year we’ll have gourmet sandwiches and brunch served by Poppe’s Cafe from 11 am to 5 pm.

Double up on your races for only $20 dollars extra online or onsite to get an early-season fitness boost.

We sponsor beginners! We cover all extra onsite and USA Cycling fees. Pay only for your entry and we’ll take care of the one-day license and late fee, saving you a few bucks as we welcome you into the racing community.

Falls City Bikeworks

This year Equifax - Clarksville Schwinn has committed to help fundraise for and volunteer at Falls City Community Bikeworks, Louisville’s non-profit, volunteer-operated bike shop.

This organization relies on volunteers to repair and donate bicycles for low income Louisvillians, often providing them with their only form of reliable transportation. When the devastating tornado hit eastern Kentucky earlier this year, FCCB sent a box truck full of refurbished bikes to tornado victims.

We will be raffling a gift basket from Four Roses Bourbon, and other assorted Bourbon bottles to fundraise for FCCB. Please join us to support their mission.

 Technical Details & FAQ

  • Counter-clockwise loop around Long Run Park. Please refer to this Ride With GPS link: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/38349901

  • Parking at Long Run Park is limited. Please carpool to improve the experience of other racers.

We ask that you park your vehicle into the grass perpendicular to the road, and in case of rainy weather please leave at least two wheels on the pavement to avoid getting stuck.

  • Preregistration will be available at BikeReg.com.

Day-of-race registration will be digital via BikeReg or onsite with Cash. Please bring exact change.

A late registration fee of $15 will be added on the day of the event for all categories except Novice / Cat 4 Men and Women.

  • To maintain social distancing and limit physical contact with race staff, please register online via BikeReg.

Please wear a mask inside facilities and portable toilets.

    Hand sanitizer will be provided.

  • Criteriums are scheduled as timed events due to several skill categories occurring on the same short course throughout the day.

Distance and lap count is determined based on the length of each lap and peloton average speed during the early minutes of the race. Officials will extrapolate those stats into a lap count, and will ring the Prime and Final Lap bell based on that calculation.

Because this number varies on course and peloton speed, always listen for the bell and look at the officials’ tent to know how many laps are left.

For a 30 minute race, you can expect the distance covered to be around 10 miles.

  • We wrote an in-depth article on this topic called “How to Race a Crit: Tips for Beginners” and we’re pretty proud of it. Give it a read by clicking here!

  • If you have never held a license, don’t worry, we got you. We’ll cover your one-day intro license. Just pay $35 bucks to enter and go race your bike. Have fun!

If you’ve held a USA Cycling License as a Cat 4 or higher, USA Cycling has an “Experienced” one-day license available for $25. We will not cover this fee, and you must purchase one directly from USA Cycling online HERE, or you can pay us onsite for the license. We’ll mail it to USA Cycling on your behalf. This procedure will save you the price of a full license and adds the result to your USAC history.
